Characteristics of ensaimada

    Although its origins are unclear, either Arab or Jewish or a mixture as both have a sweet called bulema.

    The ingredients of the ensaimada are water, lard (or saïm, hence the name), sugar, eggs, flour and yeast.

    Also known as coca bamba, the ensaimada menorquina, unlike the Mallorcan, is not filled and has more volume.
