Pastissets
Finally, we would like to explain the importance of sweets in Menorca. Pastissets are part of the popular Menorcan tradition, which is offered to guests at gatherings. It may be a very old preparation, as there is no certificate of its origin.
In the past, this sweet was mainly served at Christmas or important family occasions. Nowadays, it is a sweet that can be bought in any patisserie all year round.
They are flower-shaped pastries covered with icing sugar, similar to polvorones, but with a much more compact paste. The preparation is quite simple, all you need is lard, water, sugar, flour and egg.
