The Cuitadella lighthouse was inaugurated on 30th April 1863 and is one of the first lighthouses on the island to be electrified in 1918. It has also undergone several modifications, such as the enlargement of its tower.
This lighthouse is also known as Faro de Punta de Sa Farola and is located at Punta de Sa Farola, just at the entrance to the port of Cuitadella, at the northern end of the beautiful island of Menorca.
This is the most urbanised lighthouse in Menorca, it has a large number of houses and villas along the entire promenade. It is a beautiful lighthouse that you can’t miss, its tower has vertical black and white stripes.

It is a lighthouse with a totally marine aesthetic, it has a tower with white stripes and dark stripes.
The Artrutx Lighthouse can be found near Ciutadella, about 20 minutes away if you drive south. It is an excellent place where you can have a drink, as there is a restaurant in the former lighthouse keeper’s house, a perfect place while watching the sunset. From the Artrutx lighthouse you can see the town of Capdepera, if the day is clear.
Isla del Aire Lighthouse
The Lighthouse of the Isla del Aire was approved its construction project to begin in the year 1856 and just 4 years later its inauguration was celebrated. This marvellous lighthouse is located off the southeast coast of Menorca, in the Balearic Islands, specifically off the beach of Punta Prima, in the municipality of San Luis.
It is important to mention that the Isla del Aire is an uninhabited and privately owned islet with a surface area of 34 hectares and a perimeter of some 3,300 metres.

It is one of the oldest on the island (1852) and is also one of the most unknown lighthouses, due to its modest appearance and restricted access, as the San Carlos lighthouse is located within the military zone of the ruins of the Castle of San Felipe.
