Negotiations with the Consell insular fail due to capacity constraints

The Lazareto Music & Gastro Festival has announced a change of venue for its second edition. The event, scheduled to take place between 27th July and 8th August, will be held at the Sant Felip castle in the municipality of Es Castell. The decision was taken after failing to reach an agreement with the Consell insular and the management of the Isla del Lazareto regarding the capacity conditions.

The new specifications for the use of Lazareto, published by the Consell in March, limited the capacity to 1,500 people, 1,000 fewer than the number of people planned for the festival. For this reason, the organisers decided to move the event to the Sant Felip castle, in order to ensure greater reliability and safety for future editions.

Agreement with the Consorci Militar de Menorca and the fitting out of the venue

The festival organisers have worked together with the partners of the Consorci Militar de Menorca, including the Consell Insular, and thanks to the leadership of Colonel Víctor Manuel Herrero, a solid agreement with future prospects has been reached between the parties involved. This week, work will begin to prepare the space and the site of the Sant Felip castle to receive the 2,500 spectators a day that are expected during the festival. The refurbishment work will not affect the historic structures, but will focus on preparing the grounds, cleaning areas, collecting debris and cleaning up walls to give the site a tidy image.

Tickets on sale and artists confirmed

Tickets for the Lazareto Music & Gastro Festival will be available from today. The line-up includes international and local stars such as Anastacia, Village People, Ainhoa Arteta, Earth Wind & Fire, Boney M, Taburete, The Gipsy Kings and Sara Baras, among others.

The change of venue to Sant Felip Castle promises a unique experience for those attending, in a historic setting and with a varied programme that combines the best of music and gastronomy in a single event.
